Hydrotherapy

We are fortunate to have a hydro pool on the West Site. This is fully accessible to all.

Our pool is 7 metres by 4 metres. The depth ranges from 1.2 metres to 1.3 metres. The average temperature is 33 degrees.

There is a maximum capacity for the number of people in the pool is 10. However, the staff ratio for each session is determined by the needs of the pupils within the group.

Often there are fewer than 10 people in the pool.

Aqua Therapy

Within the school day, our pool is available for our youngest pupils and also pupils who need additional support to develop their mobility. The hydro pool is lovely and warm. It also benefits from music and lighting to ensure that this is an engaging and relaxing space for children.

The purpose of aqua therapy is to develop independent movement, increase body awareness and develop communication skills.

Staff supporting are fully trained in Life Saving qualifications and also in the individual needs of each child attending.

Following NHS guidelines, pupils that have experienced sickness and diarrhoea will not have access to the pool for 2 weeks.

Saturday Swim Sessions for families

We also offer regular Saturday Swim sessions for pupils and their families. More information about timings, cost and how to book is available from the school office.

Each slot is 30 mins.

Although there will always be a Life Saver present parents/carer are responsible for their children at all times.

Please note: If you are pregnant we advise you do not use this facility.
