School council

Pupil voice at Chellow Heights School is extremely important. We value pupil’s contributions and opinions regarding their school, education and experiences. As a school we are committed to listening to all pupils, we achieve this by having a School Council whereby a representative from each class attends regular meetings. This is consistent at both our West and South sites.

Children support with making decisions around whole school activity days including Children in Need, Red Nose Day, Recycling and Chellow Fest. In school council children had a voice when deciding on the new class names, supported with staff interviews and met with many external professionals regarding their school including OFSTED inspectors

Rights Respecting School

At Chellow Heights we have started our Rights Respecting School journey and we are now Bronze - Rights Committed. Children’s rights are promoted, realised and enjoyed across all aspects of the school day. There are four key areas of impact for children at a Rights Respecting school; wellbeing, participation, relationships and self-esteem. A steering group has recently been created and will run alongside our School Council, this will promote a shared understanding of everyone’s rights and a commitment to respect one’s own and other people’s rights across school and within the community.
